Sunset Engagements at the Stone Arch Bridge, Mill City Ruins & Merriam Street Bridge

One of the perks of being a photographer is getting to know exciting news before it’s announced! When Zach texted to let me know he’d gotten engaged, I absolutely could NOT contain my excitement! It was SO hard to keep it to myself. Zach is a good friend from college and I couldn’t be happier for him and Casey who are getting married later this month!

When planning a photo session, I often recommend a few locations to my clients if they don’t already have a place in mind. There are so many beautiful spots all over the Twin Cities, but it's always more meaningful if the location is special to my clients, and not just a beautiful backdrop. As it turned out, the Stone Arch bridge and the surrounding areas were both! Zach is a graduate student at the University of Minnesota and he and Casey would often take long walks along the bridge and near the Mill City Ruins. Nicollet Island Park by the Merriam Street Bridge was even where Zach asked Casey if she’d be his girlfriend. It was so fun to walk around these spots and photograph the two of them as an engaged couple!

To Casey and Zach, what a joy it was to photograph you two and get to know you better! Thank you for your positive attitude and fun mood despite the cold weather and a photographer who kept dragging you around for “just one more picture" ;) You’re both so full of kindness, it was clear to me how good you are to each other. I hope your wedding day is such a happy one, and the beginning of many more best days to come! I’m so blessed to have you both as friends and I’m grateful we were able to capture these pictures together.
